The park’s library is the local information centre for the area and particularly specialises in documents on, and information about, the Euganean Hills, ensuring that everyone has access to the documents and materials kept there. It is a promotional tool and encourages respect for the park’s protected status among residents of the park as well as visitors and tourists. It brings together the books and documents in its possession and makes them available to readers, thus encouraging research and a widespread understanding of scientific topics. It particularly focuses on organising, cataloguing and preserving its collection of books and documents as well as publications concerning the park’s territory with the aim of promoting local traditions and cultural, natural, socio-economic and historical aspects. It ensures that everyone can consult its collection of books and documents on the basis of an equal right of access for all, with no distinctions. It makes such materials available thanks to research tools such as catalogues, indexes and schemes designed to make published information available, in partnership with the area’s network of provincial and regional libraries. It promotes an understanding and respect for nature, for the landscape, the local area, its history and local traditions among residents of the park as well as among tourists and visitors, often working in partnership with public authorities and associations. It cooperates with other local social, cultural and educational organisations. Together with other affiliated libraries, it forms Provincial Library Network 2 of the province of Padua’s library system.

Book searches can also be carried out online using the web opacwhich allows access to the catalogue of the BPA Consortium (the Consortium of Associated Paduan Libraries), of which the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills is a member.

Library rules and services information sheet

From 1st May 2013, the 50 public libraries that are part of the BPA consortium of associated Paduan libraries will offer their readers a new service: free access to the  MediaLibraryOnLine.

This service constitutes a significant expansion of the local area’s range of cultural attractions. The MLOL is the digital equivalent of traditional document loan procedures so it allows us to expand the number of collections usually available for consultation and loan in libraries (books, periodicals, DVDs, etc.) with digital collections that can be accessed directly by users from their own computers, independently and without charge, 24 hours a day.

For further details, visit the page on the pagina BPA consortium’s website

Don’t forget that you need to have a membership card in order to use this service. Membership cards can be obtained from any of the 50 affiliated libraries belonging to the PD2 and PD3 provincial networks.
